Video: 20th Anniversary of Rome Statute – HRW and Amnesty International
July 17th 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the Rome Statute, the founding treaty of the International Criminal Court (ICC). In order to commemorate the occasion, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch released a short video today in which students from universities around the world discuss the court’s importance.
The message of our joint-video is that we must keep looking forward. It is undeniable that challenges to the ICC and Rome Statute system will increase as the Court becomes even more effective. These challenges will have to be met by young people who recognise the importance of international justice.
